News: Manchester Comedy Festival 2009
Hey folks!
Just got some info on this year's Manchester Comedy Festival. The 11 day event will run from Thursday 15th to Sunday 25th October. Acts performing this year include...
Michael McIntyre (Two dates at the M.E.N Arena)
Jimmy Carr (Three dates at the Manchester Apollo)
As well as these comedy big hitters, the Beat the Frog World Series and the City Life Comedian of the Year will return. Last year, Eddie Hoo won the coveted City Life title previously won by Peter Kay, Caroline Ahearne and Seymour Mace but Hoo (Who... Get it? Uh, i'll get my coat!) will win it this year? When more shows are announced, we'll post it here as soon as we know.
Should you want to take part in the MCF2009 with a show, there are a few things you need to be aware of. Anna Greenwood at the Manchester Comedy Store is one of the people who put the festival together. She states that the deadline for getting into the brochure is Wednesday 1st July. In order for you to feature, she will require the following:
Show title
Date of the show
Start time
Cost of tickets
The venue name
Venue details (including address, phone number and website)
A maximum of 40 words describing what your show is about.
Also include a High Resolution image of you or your Poster which is suitable for print. This is quite important and the image needs to be 300dpi.
Once you have all this, please send it to Anna at anna@thecomedystore.co.uk. Don't forget that date: WEDNESDAY 1st JULY! Thats it for now.

Free tickets to see Michael McIntyre at the Manchester Apollo? Surely not...
Tis true folks. Open Mike Productions and the BBC are filming a brand new entertainment show for Saturday nights called Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and you could be in the audience. The filming will take place at the Manchester Apollo, Stockport Road on Monday 16th March. The show guarantees to host the latest in new comedy talent and will also feature special guests too!
