We're giving one lucky reader of the site the chance to win a pair of tickets to see Al Pitcher's Picture Show tomorrow night at the Dancehouse Theatre (Tuesday 19th October). This highly acclaimed show comes direct from the Edinburgh Fringe and fresh from sell-out shows in Australia and New Zealand. Al Pitcher's multi-award winning show lands in Manchester as part of an extended UK tour.
As he goes about his life Al sees a lot of ordinary things, but he never sees them in an ordinary way. His mind is a seething ball of snakes, constantly twisting, flipping, and distorting. Turning the mundane insane, nothing is ever humdrum in the head of Al Pitcher.
Now he's on a mission to show people his way of seeing the world, inviting them to escape the monotony of their everyday lives. During the day, before the show, Al will venture into Manchester, armed with a digital camera, to capture the world as he sees it. That night, Al will then weave the day's events into a truly unique and hilarious show, complete with his photographic evidence. Every day we see things we've never seen before, things that strike us as odd or beautiful. But when these become repetitive, we no longer even notice them. Al believes that if we all stopped and took a moment to take in the world around us, we could give ourselves the chance to let a little bit more joy into our lives.
