‘Rapier wit’ is defined as clever, quick, intelligent humour.
Please note, Jimmy Carr doesn’t have ‘the long sword of a gentleman’ and even if you like him, ‘clever, quick and intelligent’ is a bit of a stretch.

The Milky Drink Kids

Middle-age is the new rock ’n’ roll. Three comedians with a combined age of 136: Richard Rycroft tells tales of his misspent youth. Jane Hill has a jaundiced view of life and love. Rob Coleman offers gags and one-liners.


Freedom Come, Freedom Go!
6.30pm (FREE)
90 days detention. Police upset by insects. Man arrested for chalking “Are we free?” on pavement. Stop and search outside Liberty exhibition. ID cards. CCTV. Snooping databases. Protest illegalised. Extradition. Torture. Tom Read tackles our disappearing freedoms and fights back.


Festival of Football

Tony Cowards has two passions in life, football and comedy. He effectively combines these by being a supporter of Ipswich Town. Tony examines what it means to be a football fan in hilarious and thought-provoking fashion.


The Yo-Yo Club All Star Showcase
9pm (FREE)
A spectacular showcase of fantastic acts, hosted by the inimitable Cody Chevron, with help from Colin Brisket, Wild Will Morris, the finest burlesquery by Kittie Cointreau, comedic poetical musings from Julian Daniel, headlined by musical maestro Matt Tiller!


Upfront Comedy Presents…

John Simmit introduces an eclectic comedy bill featuring Afrocentric comedy icon Leo Muhammed (star of the BBC’s sketch show The Real McCoy) and Jewish New Yorker Lewis Schaffer, reminding us Brits how lucky we are to have the Americans in our midst!



Bloody Funny

A one night only fundraising extravaganza of top class stand up, sketch and character acts. Jam packed funniness featuring Justin Moorhouse, Mrs Barbara Nice, Seymour Mace, Joe Lycett, Lady Garden and more special guests. All profits to Haemophilia Society India.
