John Byrne - Family Cartooning Workshop

Top cartoonist and children’s author, John Byrne promises to turn us into 'instant artists' as part of this fun-packed event for all the family. Come and learn how the simplest shapes and lines can be used to create hilarious caricatures, comic strips and animation. Presented in conjunction with the Manchester Literature Festival.



The Cutting Edge
The Comedy Store / 8pm (£10 / £8)
London’s hit show of topical and current affairs hilarity with a six strong comedic team for a festival special. Starring, Justin Moorhouse, Alun Cochrane, Sarah Millican, Roger Monkhouse, Mick Ferry, Steve Gribbin.



Brendan Burns: Comedy Good Yeah Silly Side C*nt
The Frog and Bucket / 8.15pm (£9)
No subject is a no-go for Burns, though far from ambulance chasing, this comic handles such sensitive topics with intelligence and a rare sense of accountability. Burns’ confrontational delivery belies the thoughtfulness of his material. A show not to be missed.

Geordie comedian John Smith performs a laughter-filled hour of original, dark, sick jokes and anecdotes.
