We recently received a email from the Community Foundation for Greater Manchester. They are a grant-making, non-profit organisation which raises money from the private and public sectors and channels the funding down to grass-root community groups in the most disadvantaged areas of Greater Manchester. Applications need to be in by this Friday (15th May) so get in quick!
Here is their appeal...
Are you an established, talented comedian or promoter? Do you face particular obstacles and need financial support in order to succeed in your creative industry? Then you may be able to apply for a grant of up to £1,000 from The Northern Residency Fund.
This is a unique initiative funded by The Community Foundation and set up in the spirit of Forever Manchester, a campaign to create a lasting legacy for the many diverse communities of Greater Manchester. To be eligible, acts or promoters must:
* be a resident of Greater Manchester

Susan Vale comments: "I am overjoyed at having been awarded funding. I will now be able to easily get to and from as many gigs as possible and take the short notice gigs too".
