Getting Started in Stand-Up Comedy

Ever wanted to have a go at stand-up but don’t know where or how to start? This day school will take you through the basics of developing your stage persona, getting your material together and presenting it to an audience. Some of the skills used in stand-up may also be useful for public speaking and the giving of presentations. Topics to be covered include:
• Consideration of different kinds of stand-up acts
• Developing a stage persona and an individualistic style of comedy
• Relating to audiences and dealing with hecklers
If you’re dithering about whether to have a go at stand-up this day school is a safe non- threatening way to give it a try.
